There Are More People Working From Home Than Ever Before

The last ten years has seen a huge shift in how businesses are conducted and how people make money for themselves. In the conventional working environment, people were expected to be in an office from 9-5 and dress smartly, or perhaps run their own shop on the high street. However, this is the 21st Century and advances in communications and employee powers have meant that more people than ever are enjoying the benefits of home-working.
A large step forwards was employers allowing their staff to work from home. As more and more people got connected to the internet, it became easier for them to stay in touch with work from home, and many people took advantage of increased flexibility in working hours that came about after changes were made to employer’s legal obligations to staff. At first the legislation was brought in to help those with disabilities and single parents, but as organisations realised the benefits, many have rolled it out for all their staff members.
People, like the founders of IWOOT, soon realised that they could work just as efficiently from home, and it gave them a great deal more freedom in their social life due to the loss of commuting time. They also found that they could run whole sections of a business very well from home and this inevitably gave lead to people setting up their own business. The home-based business was born.
After some high profile home-businesses like I Want One of Those.com did very well and became high profile, thousands followed suit. These businesses require no less effort and business acumen, but offer an enhanced way of life for many people. For this reason some of the top business people from successful companies have decided to move away from the conventional working model and adopt a home-based approach for their own companies. There are now so many home-based businesses that there are even training schools teaching people how to set up their own. One thing is for certain, as the technological revolution continues to grow, home-based businesses will thrive.
